Chevy. Trade.

Surely, Sir, you jest...

... and as far as apathy, oh man, am I apathetic with the Jets right now...

absolutely Chevy should be agressive with Vegas and seek out a D and a goalie!!! You have to think Vegas may be taking Fleury, Howard and Raanta. Chevy should absolutley be offering up picks in rounds 2, 3 and 4 plus guys like De Leo, Lipon, Kosmachuck to aquire another D and Goalie!!! I will see it as an absolute fail if he doesn't.

I am now leaning towards convincing Enstrom to waive his no move so we can protect 7 Forwards and 3 D although to be honest, I could care less who we lose!! Jets fans completely over value Perrault, Armia, Dano, Lowry and Copp, we could lose anyone one of them and it wont hurt one bit!!

question, can we include a Jets coach in any deal? we can part with a few of them as well.

I agree. I think the Jets should get be very aggressive this off-season.

I would even go as far and say the Jets should be shopping veterans like Byfuglien, Little and Wheeler, especially if we can convince a guy like a John Tavares to come here. I would even shop the 2016 1st round draft pick if its not the first overall selection.

The time is now!

Chevy will never give up first round picks. What do you think this is. Atlanta?

Jets cannot afford to lose any defencemen (trouba/enstrom/buff/myers). We are too thin on defence in the entire organization.

We can lose a forward (Copp/Armia/Dano/Perreault etc,,,) cause we have forwards coming up.

There is no way the Jets will want to lose Armia. He is already a major force with tons of upside. Just imagine where he will be in another two years when he gains more strength and speed. Very bullish on him. The other player that we were not so sure of was Myers. However after watching the clip about their baby , you gotta believe he want s to give back to Winnipeg and the organization. I solidly believe Chevy makes a deal with Vegas so they can leave him unprotected and go the 7-3 route. That deal won't come cheap but if it lets us keep Armia, Myers , and Perreault then its well worth whatever the price may be.

Copp (journeyman 3rd -4th liner) , Dano ( proven nothing with the Jets ), maybe even Lowry ( no vision) can all be part of that package. Take all three. Take Stuart as well....please ! Watch that bonehead attempt by Stuart to block the shot/goal in overtime that cost us the game. Brutal !

seriously why so much love for armia? He has a whopping 8 goals, and he is part of the worst penalty killing unit in the NHL. He is already 24, he is pretty much at the point of what you see is what you get, if anything there may be a little room for improvement but you need to temper your expectations on him.

Jets need to become more cut throat with their players. They hold on to all of their draft picks.... hoarding them like they're the greatest thing. Most of them have done nothing at the ahl level and have somehow made there way up to the NHL level.

It was embarrassing on how long they held on to Burmistrov.... don't like the player anymore? Trade him... if no trade...get rid of him (waivers)... no nonsense

I would bet the likes of Petan, Copp, Postma, Chariot, Hutchinson and Dano would pass through 95% of teams if placed on waivers. Our players just aren't that good.

Jets are a poorly coached team and Maurice is getting tiring to listen to for us fans.

Lastly, if Chevy does not bring in a proven #1 goalie he should be fired. This is the NHL.

We can't afford to lose any of the top 5 Dmen (Trouba, Byfuglien, Enstrom, Myers), so we should try to keep Postma as the #7 and sign Myers a new partner. Maybe even try for a Shea Theodore to bump Enstrom down with Myers. Cast off Chairot and Stuart at any cost. Same goes for Melchiori.

Hellebuyck is the keeper in net, so we should go after a solid 1B in free agency to split games with him. Think Mason, or even Budaj. Comrie is close, but Huddy's defence is toxic.

Forwards we can't afford to lose: Scheifele, Wheeler, Little, Perreault (outstanding underlying numbers. Definition of "bang for your buck"), Armia (versatility, teases skill that will never fully show itself), Dano (history of production and huge upside), and Petan (see: Dano, Marko).

Forwards we can afford to lose: Copp (he's like Lowry, but with skill. Too versatile for his own good), Lowry (big, decent defensively. Hands of stone and no further upside), Matthias (been solid in his role, but highly replaceable), Thorburn (desperately need to be rid of him. Nice guy, bad at stuff).

I have left out all the non-exposed kids because reasons.

Hypothetically: toss Vegas a pick or a prospect (Kosmachuk?) in exchange for not taking Myers. Hand them Lowry on a silver platter (McPhee will never resist a huge player with limited skill). Flip Lemieux and whatever pick for Theodore (Carlyle and Murray are just crazy enough to do it, and they have too many Dmen as is).

you must not like hitting since you would love to see the guy who leads the Jets in hits ( lowry) and they guy leading the Moose (Lemieux) both leave. also, Dano is probably the slowest player on the Jets and I'm now concerned he cant stay healthy. His "past production" is so far in the rear view mirror we cant see it anymore. The only time Dano has been visible since returning is when he gets hurt and the camera shows the little guy limping off.

Budaj has been horible lately for the Kings and I still remember how he looked for the Moose when he went 0-10, I dont hate the idea of Mason though.

Virtually all exposed players will not have a no trade clause (unless they agreed to waive it) and that makes trading options a lot more viable for all teams.

Armia is a great player. He reminds me of Frolik. Remember it took Frolik a couple of years and a trade to Chicago to become the player he is. Armia might be 24 but this is only his second year in the league. I think he has tremendous upside and am looking forward to what he brings next season.

I would not give up on Dano yet. He is playing with plugs like Thorburn and Copp. I want to see what he can do when playing with players with a little bit more offensive upside.

Kosmachuk ? You can't seriously believe McPhee would ever take him, a player who may never amount to anything, for Myers and also then allowing the Jets to be able to protect Perreault and Armia in a 7-3. Its going to take something much larger to pull a move like Chevy needs to be able to do. At least a second round pick and someone like Dano or Copp. As little vision as Lowry has, I agree with others that he still fills a valuable role on this team in a checking line.

Still can't quote, so:

Ross77

Hitting is the last concern I have. If you don't turn over the puck as a direct result of throwing a hit, it doesn't really serve a purpose in the regular season. Physicality alone makes a player a liability.

Dano's history of production is about 3 months back, when he was first called up and playing his natural position.

Budaj also doesn't play for the Kings anymore, he plays for Tampa, and he's been a solid backup in his few games there too.

Jetsnation

I would like to direct your attention to the Filip Forsberg trade. McPhee will do anything he thinks he should, regardless of whether or not anyone else would do it.

Rexypoo. If the quote mechanism is not working you can do a manual quote by copy and pasting the text you need. First you copy. Then press the quote button (open quote ) , then paste , then hit the quote button again ( close quote) . If you want to get a little fancier you can also add an =name to the "open quote" immediately after the word quote.

For example (I'll use round brackets instead of square or it will think its a quote)

(quote=jetsnation) put your text here (/quote)
